Privacy Policy — Quick Translate

Quick Translate (the "Extension") is a Chrome extension built and operated by Bring Next LLC ("we", "us", "our"). This page explains what data the Extension collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. It applies specifically to Quick Translate — for our mobile apps, see our general Privacy Policy.

By installing or using Quick Translate, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Text you translate. When you select text to translate (on a webpage or in a PDF), that text is sent to Google Translate to fetch the translation, pronunciation, and audio. We do not log or store this text on our servers — it passes through to Google's translation service and back to your browser.

Saved words and learning progress. Your translation history, favorites, flashcard schedule, and review stats are stored locally in your browser (via Chrome's storage API). This data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers, unless you choose to export it yourself (e.g. as an Excel file or an Anki-compatible text file, which you save directly to your own computer).

Google account email, if you sign in. Signing in with Google is optional and only needed to unlock Premium. If you sign in, we receive your Google account email address via Chrome's identity API and Google Sign-In. We use this email solely to identify your account and keep your Premium status in sync.

Payment and subscription status, if you upgrade to Premium. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card number or other full payment details. Stripe shares your email address and subscription status with us (via a secure webhook) so we can activate Premium for your account. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Feedback you submit. If you use the in-extension Feedback form, the name and message you provide are stored so we can display and respond to feedback.

How We Use Information

• To provide the core translation, dictionary, and vocabulary-learning features of the Extension.
• To identify your account and keep your Premium status synced across devices, if you sign in.
• To activate and manage your Premium subscription after purchase.
• To display and respond to feedback submitted through the Extension.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Third-Party Services

Quick Translate relies on the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google Translate — to translate selected text and provide pronunciation audio.
• Google Sign-In / Firebase — to authenticate your account (only if you choose to sign in) and store your Premium status (Firestore).
• Stripe — to process Premium payments.

Data Storage & Security

Your saved words, history, and flashcard progress are stored locally in your browser and are not accessible to us. Account email and Premium status (for signed-in users) are stored on Google Cloud infrastructure (Firestore), protected by access rules that only allow your own signed-in account to read your own record. We use commercially reasonable measures to protect this data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Permissions the Extension Requests

• storage — to save your favorites, history, and flashcard progress locally.
• identity — to let you sign in with your Google account, only if you choose to.
• Access to web pages — to let you select text on any page and translate it inline.

Data Deletion

You can clear your local history and favorites at any time from within the Extension, or remove all local data by uninstalling the Extension. To request deletion of your account email and Premium status from our servers, email [email protected].

Children's Privacy

Quick Translate does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
